Healthy inside and out: Start now!

Getting married this year?

With Spring approaching (it really is coming, I promise) Summer is soon to follow. Most likely you and all other brides are thinking about looking and feeling your best in their wedding gowns. Swimsuit season has probably crossed your mind as well. Although all women are beautiful on the outside, it is important that you feel beautiful on the inside as well. As with most things worth having, a healthy and clean body (inside and out) take time. Why not start now? A new habit can be created in as little as 21 days. Change can be felt immediately and can be seen in 4-6 weeks.

Fitness:

Make sure you are doing something at least 3 times a week. The weather makes it hard to get outside right now, but sunny days are yet to come. Check out a Zumba class or take a dip in your local community center pool. Group fitness not your thing? Try a home video. Many sites offer free streaming or run to the movie store and check one out. Once that snow melts, go for a walk.  Exercise releases endorphins that make you feel good. If you feel good, you are happier. If you are happier, you are healthier.

Get some rest:

Make sure you are getting at least 7 hours of shut-eye in each night. A normal, healthy adult needs between 7-9 hours of sleep each night. If you don’t get enough rest you run the risk of putting your body under stress, overeating, and generally being crabby. Shut off electronics a few hours before turning out the lights, don’t drink too much alcohol, and let the stress of the day go. Your body will thank you.

Eating well:

Eat clean, nutritious food, most of the time. If you have amounts of healthy fats, carbs, and protein in each meal you will likely feel more satisfied thus making you eat less over time. This could result in losing weight but will for sure make you feel better. Stay on the outsides of the grocery store, hit up that fresh produce, and cook for yourself. You may even spend less money, making it easier to save up for that wedding. Need some motivation: Check out sites like Pinterest and Fit Sugar. You will find hundreds of healthy recipe ideas.

Drink Water:

Aim for at least 32 ounces of water each day, at least. Your body is mostly made of water and if you are not taking in enough, you will likely feel off. Hydrated skin looks and feels prettier. Not to mention that many sodas, fruit drinks, and coffee drinks are loaded with sodium and calories. Water too boring? Spice it up with some lemon, cucumber slices, or strawberries.

Be nice:

Something that sounds so simple can do so much. Negative energy causes stress. Stress causes all sorts of nasty feelings. If you can be more pleasant to everyone around you, your mood will be boosted. You might find that people are nicer to you as well. Happy people look, and feel better. Plus, you’re getting married: If you have a more pleasant outlook in general, you will enjoy the motions of your wedding much fuller.

Sunny days are soon to come, so is your wedding, and so is lake season. Follow some of the above advice and be prepared! Simple and easy steps can ensure that you look and feel your best in general and on your big day.

    • Annie,
I hope all is well for you 🙂
Looking into things on this end, it appears as though I cannot delete a “follower” – I myself follow this as well. Next post I do, I’ll figure out how to “unfollow” from my email and get in touch right away. I apologize for any inconvenience, Thank you.
